Li Na Crashes Out Early at Wimbledon

Fresh off her French Open win, Li Na became the top name to too take an early exit from Wimbledon as of Friday.
The 29-year-old Chinese star was beaten in a thrilling three-set second round duel by German wildcard Sabine Lisicki.
Li went into the tournament as a third seed, having been a quarterfinalist at the grass-court grand slam in 2010.
Up 5-4 in the deciding set, she wasted two match points before eventually slumping to a 3-6, 6-4, 8-6 defeat.
Out for most of 2010 with an ankle injury, the 21-year-old Lisicki climbs back up the rankings and will now take on Japanese qualifier Misaki Doi for a spot in the final 16.
"The crowd really helped me when I was facing two match points.

They cheered so loudly, I have never heard such a noise," said Lisicki, who made the quarterfinals here once before in 2009.

Li Na was not alone in crashing out early on Thursday.
Three others, including a pair of top seeds, met the same fate.
Polish 13th seed Agnieszka Radwanska went down 3-6, 7-6, 6-4 to Czech Petra Cetkovska, while 14th seed Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova also bowed out with a 6-3, 6-3 loss to her compatriot, the veteran Nadia Petrova.
Joining that duo on the sidelines was 31st seed Lucie Safarova, who was shot down 6-0, 6-7, 6-4 by fellow-Czech Klara Zakopalova.
Defending champion Serena Williams progressed safely through to the third round, taking the hard route once again through three sets, this time with Romanian Simona Halep.
The seventh-seeded American broke down in tears last Tuesday after her three-set first round victory over France's Aravane Rezai.
While there were no waterworks this time around, Williams was clearly off her game, having to fight back after dropping the opening set to beat her teenage rival 3-6, 6-2, 6-1.
"I'm hoping to get better as the event goes on," Williams said. "It was really windy out there in the first set."
