  Marie Curie: Against All Odds (2)

  Science was a man's world then. People did not think women were smart enough to be real scientists.  
  However, Curie became the first woman to win a Nobel Prize. She won it with her husband. Many people doubted her ability and said her husband did all the work.  
  A few years later, her husband died in an accident. Curie had to raise her two daughters alone, but she continued her work.  
  She won a second Nobel Prize in 1911. This time she won it by herself, and she proved women could be scientists. She was also successful as a mother: one of her daughters later won a Nobel Prize, too.  
  Against all odds, Curie became one of the greatest women scientists.  
     
  在當時，科學領域是男性的天下，人們不認為女人聰明到可當科學家。  
     
  居禮成為第一位獲頒諾貝爾獎的女性。她是與她的丈夫一起獲得。有許多人懷疑她的能力，認為這全是她丈夫的功勞。
