Thanksgiving is an important holiday in America. On this day, families get together and have a big dinner. It's a time to be thankful for the good things in your life. |
The first American Thanksgiving was in 1621. About a hundred Pilgrims had arrived in America in 1620. The first winter was very difficult. It was cold, and the Pilgrims didn't have much food. |
Luckily, they met the local Wampanoag Indians. These kind people gave the Pilgrims food, and in the spring, they taught them how to hunt and plant corn. |
