    clamp 作名詞時,指用來固定東西的「夾子;夾鉗」;作動詞用時,則有 「夾緊;夾住」的意思
    , 而 clamp down on 就是「對……施壓;限制」的意 思,亦可寫為 put the clamp on。

    美國已要求其他國家嚴加取締盜版 CD。
     
 
    clip 有 「剪去;修剪;剪短」的意思,而 clip the wings of 的字面意思是 「剪去……的雙翼」,
    若是剪去鳥禽類的雙翼,當然就無法恣意飛翔了。可藉此用來比喻「使……受挫;阻撓……順利
    進行」。
