  The Happy Prince (3)

  The weather had grown colder, but the bird now loved the Happy Prince too much to leave.  
  "It is time for you to fly away to a warm place," said the Happy Prince. "Kiss me before you go."  
  "I am afraid it is too late for my trip," said the bird. He kissed his Prince and then fell dead at his feet. Just then, there was a loud noise as the Happy Prince's metal heart broke.  
  The Happy Prince was no longer beautiful to look at. The city decided to melt him down to make another statue. All that was left was the Prince's broken metal heart. The workers threw it in the trash next to the dead bird.  
  At that time, God sent one of his angels to find two perfect things in the city. The angel returned with the Happy Prince's heart and the dead bird.  
  "You have chosen well," God said. "The Happy Prince and the little bird will live with me in paradise."  
     
  天氣變得更冷了，但是鳥兒現在太愛快樂王子了，捨不得離開。  
     
  快樂王子說：「該是你飛離這裡、前往溫暖地方的時候了，在你走之前先吻我吧。」  
     
  鳥兒說：「恐怕我的旅程已經太遲了。」 牠親吻王子之後就掉了下來，死在王子的腳邊。就在那時，快樂王子的金屬心臟破碎了，發出了一聲巨響。  
     
  現在快樂王子看起來不再美麗了。城裡的人決定要把他熔化，另造一座雕像。剩下來的就只有王子破碎的金屬心臟。工人們把它丟進垃圾堆裡，和死去的鳥兒相伴。  
     
  在那時，上帝派遣祂的一個天使下凡尋找這城裡最完美的兩樣東西。天使把快樂王子的心和死去的鳥兒帶了回去。
