Once upon a time, an old miller died, and his possessions were divided among his three sons. The eldest son got the mill, and the second son got the donkey. Unfortunately, the youngest son was left with nothing but the miller's cat. Feeling disappointed, the youngest son thought about getting rid of the cat. However, the cat was clever and tried to bargain with his new master. "Give me a bag and a pair of boots," the cat said, "and I will make you very rich."
The cat got his wish. Pulling on his new boots and throwing the bag over his shoulder, he went to a field where many rabbits lived. He caught some and presented them to the king as a gift from his master. The king was very pleased.
Later on, the cat learned that the king would be traveling near a river. He told his master to bathe in the river. When the king and his beautiful daughter rode by, the cat stopped them and cried, "My master has been robbed and is drowning! Help him, please!"
