  Although they face many dangers, the friends never give up on their journey to see the Great Wizard. The Scarecrow wants to ask him for a brain, the Woodman a heart, the Lion courage, and Dorothy wants to go home.  
  At last, they arrive at the Emerald City. However, Oz refuses to help unless they kill the Wicked Witch of the West. The friends set off to find her.
  
  The powerful witch sends out the Winged Monkeys to stop them. The monkeys destroy the Woodman and the Scarecrow, but the Good Witch's kiss keeps Dorothy safe. The monkeys kidnap her and the Lion and bring them to the witch.  
  Because Dorothy is protected by the magic silver shoes, the witch can only force her to be a servant. However, the witch starves the Lion for refusing to pull her chariot. Every night, Dorothy sneaks food to him.  
  One day, the witch tricks Dorothy into giving up one of her shoes. This makes Dorothy so angry that she throws a bucket of water at the witch.  
  "See what you have done!" the witch screams as the water causes her to melt until there is nothing left of her.  
  Free at last, Dorothy and the Lion repair the Scarecrow and the Woodman. The monkeys, released from the witch's spell, carry the friends back to the Wizard of Oz.
