blow one's top 和 blow one's stack 這兩個片語都是要人「不要生氣」的意思，巧的是這兩個片語的來源可都和火有關係呢，top 在這裡指「火山口」，所以 don't blow your top 就是要你「忍耐點；別爆發」；而 stack 指的就是「煙囪」，don't blow your stack 也就有「不要點燃你的怒火」的意思囉。
