  此句型用於表示對某事的看法，it 指的是其後的不定詞片語。

  十字路口（intersection）附近一定會有紅綠燈（traffic lights）、斑馬線（crosswalk）、道路標示（street signs），有時也會有天橋（pedestrian bridge）、地下道（underpass）、公車站牌（bus stop）等，知道這些路上的號誌或建物怎麼說，問路時就可派得上用場。

forget it 可用於拒絕對方的要求，即「算了；休想」的意思，也可用於要對方別把這事放在心上，即「別客氣」的意思。可從說話者的語氣來判斷所表示的意思。
   
A: If you could tell me your address one more time, I'll write it down.
  你可以再跟我說一次你的住址嗎？我會寫下來的。
   
B: Forget it! I'll send you my address by e-mail later.
  算了！我待會用電子郵件寄我的住址給你。

forget about it 本為義裔美國人的俚語用法，使用上依前後文會有不同的意思。除了上述所提到「算了」的意思之外，也有「別計較了」、「太棒了」的意思。因為義大利人說英文時帶有的特殊口音，這個俚語還有好幾種不同的拼法，最常見的為 fuhgeddaboutdit 或 fuggedaboudit。
