crack 當動詞時有「使……產生裂痕；龜裂」的意思；當名詞則指「裂痕」。口語中常用 break、crack 等有「破裂、打破」含意的動詞來表示「嘗試」。所以 have a crack at something 也就有「嘗試某事」的意思。西方人的觀念裡通常是過程比結果重要，做事情最在乎的往往不是成功與否，而是只要能踏出第一步就勇氣可佳呢！
