  這件事很難啟齒,就是我們不會去參加派對。

  這件事很難開口,就是目前我們沒有草莓起司蛋糕。
   
I hate to tell you that you're going to have to stay in the hospital overnight for observation.

  所陳述的事情可能引起對方不悅時,可用較委婉的方式起頭:
I'm sorry to tell you that your order hasn't been shipped yet.
  很抱歉告訴您,您的訂貨還沒運送。
   
I really feel bad about telling you that your loan application has been denied.

表示某人遭遇某事是其應得的報應,不必要替他擔心難過。

  克雷格對莎拉說謊,莎拉便甩掉他。他活該。
   
  ★你知道嗎?.........................
  you've made your bed, now lie in it 這句話源自於法國的諺語 comme on fait son lit, on se couche(as one makes one's bed, so one lies in it),意思就是自己承擔自己做的事,別人也幫不了你。
 

另外,you deserve it、you get what you deserve 及 you had it coming 這三句以正面角度來看則有鼓勵或嘉許對方「這是你應得的」之意。

  字首 un- 也可用來表示「反轉原先的動作使其相反;移除;免除;釋放某個情況」等意思,有時也可只作為強調使用,例如:unloose(鬆開;解開)中的 un- 就是作為強調用。

  unlock  v. 開鎖;開啟;揭露(祕密)

  我們試了一支又一支的鑰匙,但沒一支打得開這扇門。
   
  unpack  v. 打開(包裹、行李)
Jessie still has not unpacked his bags from his trip.
