  此句型常用於議價時，用於詢問對方能否接受某個條件。
   
Could you go for a 15 percent discount instead?
  可不可以打八五折啊？
   
Could they go for a down payment now and the rest later?
  他們能不能接受先付頭期款，之後再付其他的？
   
Could she go for a lower price since I've been shopping at this store for years?
  她能不能算便宜一點，因為我在這間店消費很多年了？
   
Could I go for a reduced-price laptop? You betcha!
  我能接受廉價的筆記型電腦嗎？沒問題！

在回答問題前，可用這句話要求對方給點時間好讓頭腦清醒一下。
   
I just woke up. Let me get my head together before I answer.
  我才剛起床。我想一下再回答你。
   
A: Are you OK? That was a bad accident. What happened?
  你還好嗎？那個意外很嚴重，發生什麼事了？
   
B: Let me get my head together before I answer.
  我想一下再回答你。

  get a handle on things 指的是「清楚了解事情的來龍去脈」，類似的說法還有 get a fix on things 或 have a grasp of things
