用於希望對方能與某人認識，為介紹對方認識其他人最常用的句型。

東、西方文化不同，所顯示的禮節亦有所差異，以美國來說，朋友之間、甚至兄弟姊妹之間都是以姓名相稱，但在東方長幼有序，尤其是日本，晚輩對長輩必須使用「敬語」和「謙讓語」，這種現象在職場、學校亦然。

這句話常用於詢問對方下了什麼決定，也可用於說話者無法做出決定，而將問題推給對方時，這裡的it 即是「決定、結果」。

如果不是很在意決定是怎樣的時候，可以用 I don't care, whatever you say 來回答，表示「隨便，你說什麼都好」。
