用於詢問或討論某事還要持續多久，即這件事實際上已持續一段時間，說話者想知道還要多久時間，故用 longer 表示。
Excuse me, but how much longer will I have to wait?
抱歉，我還要等多久？
How much longer will the repairs take?
還要修理多久？
How much longer will they be in the meeting?
他們開會還要開多久？
How much longer will the movie last?
這部電影還要演多久？

這句話常用於回應別人用說的簡單，做起來可不是那麼一回事。
A: Don't worry about that.
別擔心了。
B: That's easy for you to say. You're not the one who has to face the problem.
你說的容易。你又不是需要面對問題的那個人。
A: English is the easiest language in the world.
英語是全世界最簡單的語言。
B: That's easy for you to say. You grew up speaking it.
你說的容易。你可是說英語長大的。

To say it is one thing; to do it is another.
說是一回事，做又是另一回事。
It's easier said than done.
說的容易做的難；說的比做的容易。
A: Just call her up and tell her how you feel.
你就打電話跟她說你的感覺。
B: It's easier said than done. What if she doesn't like me?
說的比做的容易。如果她不喜歡我怎麼辦？
