    Dialogue 1 
    Tiffany and her friend David are visiting a temple for the first time.
    蒂芬妮和她的朋友，大衛，第一次參觀寺廟。
    David: This temple is spectacular! I read in my guidebook that it's over two hundred years old. 大衛： 這間寺廟好雄偉！我的旅遊書裡說它已經有兩百多年的歷史了。
    Tiffany: I've only seen pictures of temples before. Seeing one with my own eyes is much more special. 蒂芬妮： 我以前只看過寺廟的照片而已。親眼目睹更是別具意義。
    David: Do you see the phoenix and the dragon on the roof? Those statues have special meaning. 大衛： 妳有看到屋頂上的龍鳳嗎？那些雕像是有特殊意義的。
    Tiffany: The two statues of lions in front of the temple also have special meaning. 蒂芬妮： 廟前的兩尊石獅子也有特別的含意。
    David: Look over to your right. There are several monks chanting together. 大衛： 妳看右邊。有幾位和尚在一起誦經。
    Tiffany: I want to go inside and watch people worship at the alter. 蒂芬妮： 我想要進去看人們在祭壇前頂禮膜拜。
    David: We can also make a small donation there, but we should be careful not to disturb anyone. 大衛： 我們也可以在那裡捐點香油錢，不過我們要小心不要打擾到別人。
    Dialogue 2 
    Now, Tiffany and David are inside the temple looking around.

    Tiffany: Did you see the beautiful carvings on the columns outside? They are so interesting. 蒂芬妮： 你有看到外面柱子上那些美麗的浮雕嗎？好有趣喔。
    David: I saw them, and I took several pictures of them with my digital camera. 大衛： 我看到了，而且我還用數位相機拍了幾張照片。
    Tiffany: What is that smell? 蒂芬妮： 那是什麼味道？
    David: It is incense. Worshippers light it and burn it. They also light candles. 大衛： 是薰香。來拜拜的人會燒香。他們也會點蠟燭。
    Tiffany Look outside. It's getting dark, and the monks are lighting some lanterns. 蒂芬妮： 看外面。天色漸漸暗了，和尚們正在點燈籠。
    David: What are those bottles over there? 大衛： 那邊那些罐子是什麼？
    Tiffany: Those are urns. People place the ashes of their ancestors in the urns and then put them in the temple. 蒂芬妮： 那些是骨灰罈。人們把祖先的骨灰放在骨灰罈裡，再把骨灰罈放在廟裡。
    David: Wow! Temples are important cultural centers. 大衛： 哇！寺廟真是重要的文化中心！
